Self-leveling epoxy flooring is a type of polymer coating with a binder-based system, characterized by high adhesion to a concrete substrate. All variants of epoxy flooring systems and auxiliary materials (primers, putties, base coats, protective varnishes) are manufactured exclusively as two-component systems (epoxy resin and hardener).
The curing (polymerization) time of such floors is approximately 12 hours for foot traffic or for application of the next layer. Full curing, with the achievement of guaranteed performance properties, occurs within 7–14 days.
Epoxy floor coatings are widely used to protect surfaces against mechanical damage, aggressive environments, and dust formation. They are particularly relevant for facilities with increased sterility requirements and where accidental spills of technical or other liquids occur frequently.
Epoxy floors can be produced in glossy, matte, textured (anti-slip), decorative, and colored finishes. Variations in appearance are achieved through the use of different additives.
